2009 Annual Conference

Thanks to all for making our 2009 Conference a great event!

Utah NAHRO celebrated 30 years at our annual conference held in St. George on April 1-3, 2009.  This year’s party (oops) conferance was filled with magic.  (No literally, we had a magician come to the party on Thursday evening.)  As the sessions started, attendees had the opportunity to learn tips and tricks about foreclosure prevention, homeless progress and good relationships with landlords and PHAs.  Wednesday evening we got to know each other better during a pre-party reception.  Thursday morning bright and early we enjoyed breakfast and the return of Renn Zaphiropoulos as our keynote speaker.  He inspired and motivated those in attendance to keep doing great things for those in the State of Utah.  Thursday’s sessions included Energy Efficient and Green Housing News, the HUD Inspector General giving tips and a couple of courses on using capital funds and creative use of assets.  The evening ended on a roll (of toilet paper) with a fabulous magic show including doves, a deck of cards and burning a banker’s money!!  Friday morning we held the UT NAHRO annual meeting, announced our incoming officers and gave away fabulous door prizes including a wii & wii fit to one lucky winner.  Although we departed St. George in the midst of a spring snowstorm, the blizzard of information we received has planted seeds that will benefit all those around us for seasons to come.
